The UNESCO Chair for dialogue at the University of Kufa held a workshop on “Peaceful Coexistence in Iraq”. The main goal of this workshop was to spread the culture of tolerance and accepting the other among Iraqi youth. The workshop targeted students from Faculty of Arts, Kufa University. Indeed, educating the students about the significant role that they can play in peace-making and peaceful coexistence encourage them to contribute to rebuilding their country. Likewise, making the students aware of the harms and consequences of sectarianism and extremism can contribute to raising up an open-minded individuals able to make a better society. The students themselves did not only act as learners, but as future educators in their communities.
