Marking the One Year Anniversary of UNESCO Chair for the Development of Inter-religious Dialogue Studies in the Islamic World

On April 5th 2016 UNESCO Chairs at the University of Kufa convened a celebratory event marking the one year anniversary of UNESCO Chair for the Development of Inter-religious Dialogue Studies in the Islamic World at the main lecture hall at the Faculty of Languages.

Dr. Hassan Nadhem, the Director of the UNESCO Chair and the team have worked together for the past year in organizing important collaborations, the  event  consisted of a list of speakers by  associates and executive members of UNESCO Chair as well as a power point presentation reporting the list of activities in conjunction with leading experts in the field of interfaith and intercultural dialogue, such as hosting lectures by visiting professors from  Arab and foreign universities, inviting ambassadors from various countries of the world and hosting workshops and conferences, as well as prospects of UNESCO Chair projects and programs in the near future, in particular with studies related  between religions and sects, and among its aims is to contribute to the development of the study of non-Muslim communities in Muslim populated countries. The event welcomed the deans, professors and graduate students, who contributed to a discussion and gave suggestions in charting new development plans that will be added to future activities of UNESCO chair.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the President of the University, Prof. Aqeel Abed Yasseen, the Dean of Faculty of Languages, Dr. Ahmed Kilabi and the Dean of Faculty of Arts, Dr. Aqeel Khaqani, for their speeches and continuous support.
