In collaboration with the American Lebanese University in Beirut, the UNESCO chair for Dialogue at the University of Kufa held a workshop on “Peace Making and National Reconciliation” on 7 January, 2019.The event was attended by a number of professors from many Iraqi universities, officials from the government, as well as clerics from various religious institutions in Iraq. The workshop included intensified discussions about the challenges of peace building and national reconciliation in Iraq. It dealt with many issues such as diagnosing the major problems in peace making, the search for ways to return the harmony to the multi-sectarian cities, tolerance and national reconciliation, rehabilitating the people who lived under the barbarism of ISIS.
