Seminar on “Violence and its manifestations”

The UNESCO Chair for Dialogue at the University of Kufa held a seminar entitled “Violence and its manifestations” on Monday, March 11, 2019, at the Hall of History Department, Faculty of Arts. The seminar included two lectures delivered by Dr. Hassan Al-Khakani, lecturer at the Faculty of Arts / Department of Arabic Language and Dr. Abbas Ajel, Head of the Civil Society Department at the Faculty of Arts. It was attended by students from the Civil Society Department.  The seminar is part of a series of activities organized by the UNESCO Chair for Dialogue that aim to increase students’ awareness and culture about the causes of violence and how to treat it. The seminar included a definition of the concept of violence in general and its forms, such as physical, psychological, emotional, domestic etc…, and explaining the factors that cause it, such as psychological factors, fragile family,  deconstructed society, poverty and unemployment. Also, the seminar highlighted the impact of violence on society and the possible solutions to eliminate this dangerous phenomenon.
