The UNESCO Chair for Dialogue participates in Iraqi National Dialogue Project

The UNESCO Chair for Dialogue at Kufa University participated in the Iraqi National Dialogue Project entitled “Najaf, Moderate Religious Discourse and Peaceful Coexistence ” held at the Alamein Institute under the auspices of the European Union, Tuesday, 6/7/2021.  Dr. Tahseen Fadel Abbas, representing the UNESCO Chair of Dialogue, participated with a research paper on the main premises of moderate discourse and peaceful coexistence in the Holy Koran (no coercion in religion), a focus on interfaith participants (come to a word that is equitable between us and you) and the manners of dialogue between the Creator, the Angels, the Creator and the Satan who have freely shown their opinion. The paper addressed the visit of His Holiness the Pope to Iraq and his meeting with representatives of religions, particularly with supreme leader Sayyid Ali al Sistani indulgence in Najaf Al-Ashraf.
 Dr. Alaa Shatnan, the Director of the UNESCO Chair confirmed that participation of the UNESCO Chair in the Iraqi National Dialogue Project has been active since its launch last May in Baghdad will continue for two consecutive years.
