UNESCO Chair Holds Symposium on Racism and Anti-Racism in literature

The UNESCO Chair for Dialogue, in cooperation with the Department of French at the Faculty of Languages, organized an online symposium entitled Racism and Anti-Racism  in “Murceau,  a counter-investigation” – a novel by the Algerian writer Kamel Daoud.
Dr. Alaa Shatnan, the lecture addressed the concepts of racism and anti-racism in the 2014 novel              ” Murceau,  a counter-investigation” a novel by the Algerian writer Kamel Daoud, which he wrote as a parallel and dialectical text to the 1942 novel The Stranger ( French : L’étranger ) is the first novel by French writer Albert Camus , published in 1942. The symbolic and critical connotations it contained and the underlying motives for its writing. Lastly, the lecturer summarized the receipt of the novel and the reactions it had raised in French literary and popular circles, as well as the main reasons for its success in the French critical community.
