The UNESCO Chair at Our University Organizes a Symposium on Religious Diversity and The Future of Societal Peace in Iraq.

On the occasion of the World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development and under the auspices of the President of Kufa University, Professor dr. Yasir Lafta Hassoun. The UNESCO Chair for Dialogue, in cooperation with the Peace Studies Unit at Tikrit University, held a symposium about ” (Religious Diversity and The Future of Community Peace in Iraq”) on Saturday, 22/5/2022. A large number of professors and researchers from universities and research centers took part in the symposium.
Dr. Rahim Slom Marhoun, Head of the Department of Islamic Faith and Thought at the University of Tikrit, participated in his paper entitled “Human diversity is a healthy phenomenon in the achievement of community peace.” After that, Dr. Jaafar Aliwi Musa from the Faculty of Education at the Mustansiriya University discussed His research was titled “The Role of Mystic Ways in the Establishment of Community Peace in Iraq/The Attic Qadri Kazanzaniyya as a Model”. Sheikh Adnan al-Majdi, Professor of the Scientific Estate in Najaf al-Ashraf, presented his research (Citizenship and peaceful coexistence from the perspective of the Quran and religious authority), while Dr. Ali Naji Attiya from the Faculty of Engineering at Kufa University Department of Civil Engineering. He presented his research, entitled “Draft preventive policy for peacebuilding in Iraq”, and then Professor Dr. Amer Abdul Zeid of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Kufa with his research (Cultural Diversity-General Approach). After the research papers were presented, the discussions between participants began. The symposium was managed by Prof. Dr. Zeid Abbas Karim and Dr. Musab Abdel Zahra.
