The UNESCO Chair organized a seminar in collaboration with the Faculty of Languages at the University of Kufa. The seminar, titled “Muslim Youth and Migration,” took place on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in the Faculty of Languages hall. The speaker was Sheikh Khalid Jameel, the head of the Religious Propagation Unit in English at the Department of Intellectual Affairs at the Holy Hussein Shrine. The seminar was moderated by Dr. Alaa Shatnan, the director of the UNESCO Chair.

The lecture aimed to familiarize students with the nature of life in the West and how to coexist with a new society that differs culturally and civilizationally from our own. It also addressed the challenges faced by Muslim youth, especially students intending to continue their studies or migrate to the West.

Sheikh Khalid shared real-life examples from his personal experience in the West, discussing the nature of coexistence with those societies and how to adapt to them. He addressed the most important challenges and obstacles that students may encounter.

Concluding the seminar, an interactive session unfolded, inviting discussions and contributions from the audience, which comprised students and professors from the English Language Department. The discourse predominantly unfolded in the English language.

Finally, Sheikh Khalid, the speaker, was honored with certificates of appreciation from the dean of the College of Languages and the director of the UNESCO Chair, acknowledging his efforts. Translated into English by Saraa Mohammed
