The British Ambassador visited Kufa University and Conveyed Gratitude for the collaborative efforts Between the British Council and UNESCO Chair.

On Sunday, 4/6/2023, the British Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson, visited Kufa University to discuss scientific cooperation with the university’s President, Dr Yasir Lafta Hassoun. They discussed several undergraduate and postgraduate studies programs during their meeting and signed a cooperation agreement between the University of Kufa and the British Council.

During the meeting, the President, Dr Hassoun, provided a comprehensive overview of the university, including its establishment, student population, and teaching departments in all four colleges. Bryson expressed his immense pleasure in visiting the university precisely due to its focus on religious dialogue through the UNESCO Chair, which was partnered with the British Council on the development of a peacebuilding curriculum that was piloted in several Iraqi universities, including Kufa University under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
