The UNESCO Chair participated in an international conference on freedom of opinion and coexistence.

The UNESCO chair for interreligious dialogue participated in the international conference titled “Freedom of Opinion and Coexistence,” sponsored by the Imam Hussain Foundation for Dialogue and Peace, affiliated with Imam Hussein holy shrine , on Friday, 29/9/2023, amidst broad participation from religious, cultural, and community figures from within and outside Iraq.

The UNESCO Chair was represented at the mentioned conference by Dr. Tahseen Fadel Abbas, through a research paper titled “The Heavenly Books and Religions between the Vision of the Holy Quran and Western Law.” The paper highlighted the importance of human-made laws respecting the sacred books and not allowing any derogatory actions towards these holy books, as otherwise, it would lead to increased hatred among peoples.
