The UNESCO Chair for Dialogue at Kufa University published a new book, “The Code of Violence in Iraq, Four Bloody Decades’ Fiction Research”, by Iraqi scholar and academic professor “Ahmed Hamid.”
The Director of the UNESCO Chair, Alaa Shatnan, stated: The production of specialized books on dialogue, pluralism and civil society, as well as the topics of peacebuilding, violence and destruction, is one of the tasks pursued by the UNESCO Chair for Dialogue at Kufa University, where The series “Intellectual Studies” of the UNESCO Chair is responsible for publishing academic studies on different topics in the field of humanities.
Assistant Lecturer Hassan Zuhair, an editorial board member of the Series Intellectual Studies, added: The Code of Violence in Iraq examines Iraqi narrative texts involving issues of war and violence in contemporary Iraqi history. The study included 33 novels representing the samples of the Iraqi narrative from 1960 to 2003. In his book, Ahmed Hamid researched examples of violence based on a critical approach known as Genetic structuralism theory.
