UNESCO Chair and Faculty of Jurisprudence hold a symposium to celebrate the International Day of Human Rights.

As a celebration of the International Day for Human Rights, attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Jurisprudence, Dr Salim Al-Jassani, Director of UNESCO Chair, Dr Alaa Shattnan, professors, and students of the Faculty of Jurisprudence, UNESCO Chair at Kufa university organized a Symposium on (Human rights and their impact on the promotion of peaceful interfaith coexistence) on Tuesday, 12 December 2023.The symposium included two lectures; the first was by Dr. Tahsin Fadil about “Human Rights in Islam, Imam Ali, as an example”. Dr Tahsin Fadil spoke about the virtues of Imam Ali and their impact on fostering human rights in Islamic and International history.The second lecture was by Dr Walid Abdul Hamid Al-Asadi, entitled: Problem of New Abrahamism and International Legitimacy of Human Rights, in which he explained the concept of New Abrahamism and the problems that accompanied the emergence of this concept, its interpretations and the views of different religions about it.At the end of the symposium, the organizers distributed appreciation certificates to the participants.
