UNESCO CHAIR For Inter-Religious Dialogue Studies in The Islamic World
Dr. Alaa Shatnan, Director of the UNESCO Chair for Interreligious Dialogue at the University of Kufa, participated in the virtual international symposium organized by the UNESCO Chairs Network under the title “Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Cooperation” on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
The symposium focused on key topics discussed in Chapter 3 of the “Pact for the Future” draft, including capacity development, the right to science, gender equality, traditional and local knowledge, and international cooperation. Special attention was given to UNESCO’s Recommendation on Open Science, which provides an international framework for open science policy and practices aimed at narrowing technological and knowledge gaps between and within countries.
