UNESCO Chair Engages in Bilateral Understandings with International Counterparts

Paris, France — On the margins of the Digital Learning Week 2025, convened at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, Dr. Alaa Shatnan, Director of the UNESCO Chair and representative of the University of Kufa, held a series of meetings between September 2nd and 4th, 2025, with directors of UNESCO Chairs and distinguished experts in interreligious and intercultural dialogue hailing from Australia, the United Kingdom, Turkey, the Congo, Mauritania, and Oman.

These encounters culminated in several understandings regarding the prospect of joint initiatives, collaborative activities, and the exchange of expertise.

The discussions also encompassed preparatory deliberations for the forthcoming UNESCO Chairs Conference, scheduled to be held in Baghdad on October 1–2, 2025, including its principal themes and anticipated outcomes.
