Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Abis, a member of the UNESCO Chair for Interreligious Dialogue at the University of Kufa, took part in the Fifth International Conference on the Genocide of the Kurdish People and Mass Graves, held at the University of Duhok on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 28–29, 2025.
During the conference sessions, Dr. Abis delivered several thoughtful interventions, emphasizing the importance of preserving collective memory and documenting the atrocities of genocide as a means to foster a social environment conducive to dialogue and peace. He further underscored that such remembrance contributes to strengthening opportunities for coexistence and reviving the moral and social values that bind Iraq’s diverse communities through dialogue and mutual understanding.
