Najaf al-Ashraf – 7 February 2026
Within the framework of its ongoing endeavor to consolidate the values of dialogue and promote societal peace, Al-Makeen Foundation for Sciences and Knowledge in Najaf al-Ashraf, in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair for Interreligious Dialogue at the University of Kufa, convened a specialized intellectual seminar to discuss the book The Role of the Shiʿa in Peaceful Coexistence by Professor Dr. Tahseen Fadhil Abbas, a member of the UNESCO Chair.
The session featured an extensive and in-depth reading of the book’s text, during which the author expounded upon its principal intellectual foundations and scholarly theses. He illuminated the pivotal role of the Shiʿi school in fostering a culture of shared coexistence and in consolidating the principles of civil peace, with particular emphasis on perspectives that contribute to building bridges of human understanding and reinforcing societal stability.
Toward Global Reach: Signing the English Publication Agreement
The event concluded with a practical step aimed at supporting purposeful intellectual production, as Al-Makeen Foundation for Sciences and Knowledge formalized an agreement to print and publish the book in English. This initiative seeks to:
- Enhance Academic Presence: Convey the author’s scholarly vision, as well as that of the UNESCO Chair for Interreligious Dialogue, to international cultural circles and universities.
- Globalize the Discourse: Make the book’s content accessible within specialized global academic discussions on interreligious dialogue and coexistence.
- Support Intellectual Contribution: Enable Western researchers and institutions to engage with the positive and methodical role of the Shiʿa in advancing global peace.
This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of Al-Makeen Foundation and the UNESCO Chair to producing rigorous intellectual works that address contemporary challenges and propel the movement of human dialogue toward broader and more promising horizons.
