UNESCO CHAIR For Inter-Religious Dialogue Studies in The Islamic World
As part of the UNESCO Chair’s activities in Europe and France for May 2024, Dr. Alaa Shatnan, Director of the UNESCO Chair for Interreligious Dialogue at the University of Kufa, visited the Imam Al-Khoei Foundation in Paris on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. He was accompanied by Mr. Ali Al-Jabri, Director of the Imam Amir al-Mu’minin Center for Specialized Studies, Dr. Ammar Nassar from the College of Arts at the University of Kufa, and Dr. Tahseen Fadhel, a member of the UNESCO Chair.
The delegation was welcomed by Sheikh Murtadha Al-Khaleeq, Head of the Imam Al-Khoei Cultural Association. During the meeting, Dr. Alaa Shatnan delivered an introductory speech about the role of the UNESCO Chair for Dialogue at the University of Kufa and its impact on promoting societal tolerance both in Iraq and abroad. He also provided a detailed explanation of the Chair’s various activities and its future plans.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Sheikh Murtadha expressed his pleasure with the visit and his ongoing desire to participate in the UNESCO Chair’s activities in both Iraq and France. He also expressed the readiness of the Imam Al-Khoei Association in Paris to collaborate and support these initiatives.
