Dr. Raed Obeis, Assistant Professor and a member of the UNESCO Chair, took part in the scholarly symposium organized by the Department of Doctrines, Religions, and Civilizations at the Center for Kufa Studies, held under the title: “Activating the Role of Values, Customs, Traditions, and Norms in Academic Institutions.”
The symposium delved into the pivotal importance of anchoring values, customs, and traditions as pillars supporting the educational process within universities. It further explored their profound impact on reinforcing academic identity and cultivating a culture of dialogue among the geographically, culturally, and ethnically diverse university communities. The discussions emphasized the necessity of upholding institutional academic values as a means of fostering a robust and principled educational environment—one capable of elevating the reality of higher education in Iraq.
