UNESCO Chair Participates in Religion Dialogue Meeting at Najaf Al-Ashraf

The UNESCO Chair participated in the meeting at AL_Khoei  Institute commemorating the first anniversary of the visit of the Pope to Iraq and his historic meeting with supreme leader Sayyid Ali al Sistani indulgence in Najaf Al-Ashraf on 10/3/2022. The meeting was attended by the Apostolic Nuncio-Ambassador of the Holy See-Vatican accredited to Iraq, as well as the accompanying church delegation. The Ambassador of the Holy See-Vatican expressed his pleasure at visiting Najaf Al-Ashraf in commemoration of the first anniversary of the visit of the Pope to Iraq and his historic meeting with representatives of religions, particularly with supreme leader Sayyid Ali al Sistani in Najaf Al-Ashraf. He explains the importance of continuing religious dialogue in order to promote the spirit of brotherhood and tolerance among all religions.
Dr. Alaa Shatnan, the Director of the UNESCO Chair, talked about the importance of visiting His Holiness the Pope and the role of the UNESCO Chair in attending and holding seminars and workshops on the dimensions of the visit and its implications for social peace in Iraq.
