Dr. Abd al-Jabbar al-Rifa’i is an Iraqi thinker specializing in Islamic Studies. He teaches graduate courses in Islamic Philosophy, Logic, Theology, Jurisprudence and Juristic Methodology. He is currently the Director of the Institute for studies of Philosophy of religion. In 1997, he founded and academic journal ‘Contemporary Islamic Issues’. His books include, Saving the Humanistic Tendency in Religion (2012), Principles of Islamic Philosophy, vols. I & II (2011), Contemporary Islam and Democracy (2005), An Introduction to the New Theological Question (2005), We and the West: the Dialectic of Conflict and Coexistence (2002).
