The UNESCO Chair Participated in the “Transforming Knowledge for Africa’s Future: Advancing the Recommendation on Open Educational Resources (OER) ” Symposium.

The Director of the UNESCO Chair at Kufa University, Dr. Alaa Shatnan, participated in the virtual symposium ” Transforming Knowledge for Africa’s Future: Advancing the Recommendation on Open Educational Resources (OER) “organized by UNESCO as part of the UNESCO Chairs Network activities on Thursday, 30/11/2023.


The goals of the symposium were to provide an overview of how open educational resources can help Africa to employ new technologies for sustainable development and to mobilize the efforts of UNESCO chair networks in the world, as well as experts, to prioritize promoting Open educational resources in Africa.
The symposium also sought to emphasize cooperation between UNESCO chairs, researchers and experts to support Africa. Experts and researchers from several sectors of UNESCO, UNESCO chairs and universities from “South Africa”, “Brazil”, “Zimbabwe” and “Kenya” participated in the symposium.
