African Delegation Visits UNESCO Chair.

A representative of the Centre for African Studies of the Holy Abbasiya Shrine and an African delegation visited the University of Kufa on Sunday, 03/12/2023.

The delegation met with the president of the University in the presence of the director of the UNESCO Chair, Dr. Alaa Shattnan, and the director of the Kufa Studies Center, Dr. Hasanin al-Hilu.The African delegation, which included scientific and religious figures from countries (Senegal, Madagascar, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone), visited the UNESCO Chair Office and was received by the Chair’s Director, Dr. Alaa Shatnan, who gave a comprehensive explanation of the UNESCO Chair’s duties and expressed UNESCO Chair willingness to open up cooperation with African Universities in the field of interfaith dialogue and cross-cultural communication. The delegation was pleased to visit the University and learn about its strategies and the role of the UNESCO Chair at the University in promoting a culture of interreligious dialogue and acceptance of the otherTranslated into English by Shaima Adnan.
