UNESCO CHAIR For Inter-Religious Dialogue Studies in The Islamic World
Mr. Paolo Fontani, Director of the UNESCO Office in Baghdad, along with his accompanying delegation, visited the University of Kufa on Sunday, March 17, 2024. During the visit, he met with the University President, who provided an in-depth overview of the university’s structure and its various departments. Mr. Fontani expressed his admiration for the prominent academic status the University of Kufa has achieved among Iraqi universities.
The delegation then visited the UNESCO Chair office, where Dr. Alaa Shatnan, Director of the Chair, gave a presentation on the history of the Chair’s establishment, the nature of its activities, and its collaborating partners. Mr. Fontani commended the activities of the UNESCO Chair and expressed his ongoing support and cooperation, recognizing it as a leading academic and research center in Iraq.
