The UNESCO Chair participated in a UNESCO seminar on the Pact for the Future

Dr. Alaa Shatnan, the director of the UNESCO Chair, participated in the virtual seminar
organized by UNESCO for the UNESCO Chairs Network under the title "An Overview of the
Pact for the Future" on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024.
The seminar aimed to enhance awareness and participation in current discussions on the
future of development and international cooperation; provide opportunities for collective
thinking, dialogue, intellectual exchange, and actions among researchers, scholars,
students, and others; promote and facilitate cooperation between the Chairs Program and
other partners for research, teaching, and other activities. The seminar focused on several
points, including:
1. Sustainable development and development financing
2. International peace and security
3. Science, technology, innovation, and digital cooperation
4. Youth and future generations
5. Transforming global governance.
