Representative of the UNESCO Chair Meets with the Chaldean Church Pastor in Oslo

Following participation in various activities for the UNESCO Chair in Spain and Norway, Dr. Tahseen Fadhil, the representative of the UNESCO Chair, along with the accompanying Iraqi delegation, met with His Excellency Father Ronnie Hanna, Pastor of the Chaldean Church in Norway and Finland May 8, 2024. During the meeting, they discussed the activities of the UNESCO Chair for Interreligious Dialogue at the University of Kufa, both locally and internationally, and emphasized the important role it plays in reviving the foundations of interreligious dialogue to promote a spirit of religious, sectarian, and ethnic tolerance in Iraq and beyond, thereby preserving peaceful coexistence within society.

In turn, the Pastor of the Chaldean Church expressed his support for the activities of the UNESCO Chair for Interreligious Dialogue, which aim to defend the unity of the Iraqi people and maintain its diversity. At the conclusion of the meeting, an invitation was extended to him to visit Iraq and the University of Kufa to facilitate joint activities between Christian and Islamic institutions.
