The UNESCO Chair for the Development of Interfaith Dialogue Studies took part in the activities of the Third National Memory Festival, hosted by the College of Science at the University of Kufa on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
The Chair was represented at this event by Dr. Raed Ubais, as the festival shed light on the crimes committed by the former regime against the various components of Iraqi society, and documented the collective national memory. Dr. Ubais also made an active contribution to the media and cultural coverage of the events held on this occasion.
This participation comes within the framework of the UNESCO Chair’s broader strategy to strengthen outreach and engagement with colleges and research centers, and stands as a tangible expression of its commitment to joint events that resonate with its academic and humanitarian objectives — objectives rooted in the promotion of a culture of tolerance and dialogue, and in the steadfast opposition to discourses of hatred, religious extremism, and sectarian fanaticism.
