THE SIGNING OF A COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE FRENCH EMBASSY AND THE UNESCO CHAIR AT UNIVERSITY OF KUFA

This year UNESCO Chair at University of Kufa is fortunate to receive funding from the French embassy towards a 2-day workshop on preserving culture heritage and research, this collaborative event is a follow up from the Ifpo conference at the American University of Iraq Sulaimani, in early May of 2016, which was organized by leading experts in field of preserving cultural heritage in Iraq and the Middle East.

An agreement was made by the University of Kufa and the French Embassy in January 3rd 2017 for future cooperation, in order to support workshop in University’s role in academic excellence in cultural and research interests, it will bring together foreign and regional academic experts related to the field of the project, it will also include presentations and discussions by researchers specializing in sociology and anthropology, history, architecture and archaeology.

UNESCO chair is currently working with Dr. Geraldine from IFPO Amman – Jordan, in organizing this workshop that will be held in early April 2017.
